Wag Therapy offers a variety of services that take advantage of the many rebates available to assist you with your mental health needs.
You do not need a referral to see a Psychologist. However, should you want to claim Medicare Rebates, you will need to get a referral from your GP.

Mental Health Care Plan
Visit your GP and request a Mental Health Care Plan. This plan allows you to receive 10 Medicare rebates over ten(10) sessions in a calendar year. Please request a long consultation with your GP as the preparation of a Mental Health Care Plan can take up to 30-40 minutes. Clients are also encouraged to register for the Medicare Safety Net.
Medicare - Chronic Disease Management Initiative
This referral option is available for people who experience a chronic medical condition for a minimum of 6 months or more. It allows for 5 sessions with an allied health professional.
National Disability Insurance Scheme
W.A.G. Therapeutic Service supports those with permanent or significant disabilities. Those with a self-managed or plan-manged NDIS plan may be eligible for rebates.
Private Health Fund
Check with your private health fund provider as they may offer rebates for Psychological Services under “Extras”.
Department of Veterans' Affairs
W.A.G. Therapeutic Service is committed to supporting veterans and former members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF), and their families. Those who hold a Gold or White DVA Health Card are eligible for bulk billed sessions.
